Bamford & Stanage Edge Circular

Kickstart 2025 with an unforgettable adventure in the Peak District! Our Bamford & Stanage Edge Circular hike takes you through some of the region’s most iconic and breathtaking landscapes, offering a perfect escape into nature.

This 14km circular route weaves through the stunning Ladybower Reservoir, the tranquil beauty of Bamford, and the awe-inspiring gritstone escarpment of Stanage Edge. Known for its dramatic views and rugged cliffs, Stanage Edge has captured the hearts of hikers, climbers, and adventurers for generations. It’s also a famous film location, featured in movies like Pride and Prejudice, adding a touch of cinematic magic to your hike.

Whether you’re drawn to the thrill of walking along iconic edges, the serenity of rolling hills, or the chance to explore a historic reservoir, this hike promises something for everyone. It’s a perfect way to meet like-minded hikers and embrace the outdoors in the crisp winter air.

THE WALK

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – Car parking may be limited, so it’s important to arrive on time to find alternative parking if needed.

Walk distance/Duration:

• Distance: 14km
• Duration: Approx. 6.5 hours
• Elevation gain: 450m
• Difficulty level: EASY – This is a fairly easy hike suitable for most walking abilities. As always, being physically prepared will help you enjoy the experience more.

After a short briefing, we shall start the trek at 09:00 sharp and aim to complete it by 15:00.

KIT LIST
Hiking boots with ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, extra layers, water bottle & packed lunch. A full kit list will be sent to you via email.
