Often described as Alfred Wainwright’s favourite fell, Haystacks is one of the most beloved mountains in the Lake District.

Despite its relatively modest height, Haystacks offers everything you could want from a day in the fells, rocky paths, hidden tarns, dramatic views and a true sense of adventure. The route takes us through some of the Lake District’s most beautiful landscapes, with plenty of opportunities to stop, take in the scenery and enjoy the journey.

Starting from Honister Pass, we gradually make our way towards the summit, passing mountain tarns and rugged terrain that make this route feel far bigger than the statistics suggest.

While this hike is graded easy–moderate and is suitable for beginners, participants should still expect sustained uphill sections, uneven terrain and several hours on their feet.

As always, our hikes are fully guided, inclusive and open to anyone looking to experience the outdoors in a welcoming and supportive environment.

KIT LIST

Hiking boots with good ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, warm layers, water bottle (at least 1.5–2L), and packed lunch.
