Langdale Pikes

Muslim Hikers invites you to our thrilling hike at Langdale Pikes in the heart of the Lake District! There are limited tickets available for this event, so hurry, don’t miss out! You’ll also be joining us during the Arc’teryx Climb Academy weekend in Langdale, bringing an added layer of energy and activity to the valley.

Explore the stunning Langdale Pikes, a collection of picturesque peaks nestled in the Lake District National Park. This iconic area offers breathtaking views, dramatic landscapes, and a rich history of hiking and adventure.

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded hikers and adventurers from across the country, and enjoy a scenic social trek as part of a professionally organized event with qualified mountain guides.

All are welcome regardless of religious background or ability. Whether you’re a seasoned mountaineer or a first-time walker, we invite you to join us on this adventure.

THE WALK

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – (Car parking is limited so it’s important to arrive on time)

Walk distance/Duration: 8km / 4-5 hours
DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Moderate – come prepared for a trek with moderate inclines and stunning views. As always, being physically trained will help you enjoy the experience more.

Route Description:
Starting at the Stickle Ghyll car park, we begin our ascent along the beautiful Stickle Ghyll, a picturesque stream with cascading waterfalls. Our journey takes us up Miller Crag, offering early glimpses of the breathtaking landscape. We then reach Stickle Tarn, a serene mountain lake that sits beneath the impressive Pavey Ark.

From here, we tackle a steeper section up Pavey Ark to Harrison Stickle, the highest point of the Langdale Pikes at 736 meters. The summit provides panoramic views over the Langdale Valley and beyond. Our adventure continues to Pike of Stickle and then to Loft Crag, each peak offering its own unique vistas.

Crossing a charming stream, we head towards Thorn Crag and make our descent via Pike Howe. As we approach the end of our hike, we’ll pass Dungeon Ghyll Force, a stunning 40-foot waterfall. Finally, we return to our starting point at the car park, completing an unforgettable circuit of the Langdale Pikes.

After a short briefing, we shall start the trek at 09:30 sharp. You should expect to complete the hike by 4pm.

KIT LIST

Hiking boots with good grip recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, extra layers, water bottle (at least 1.5L), and packed lunch.

WIDER WEEKEND EXPERIENCE

This hike takes place during the Arc’teryx Climb Academy (Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th May) – a major outdoor event hosted in the Langdale Valley, right where our hike is based.

Across the weekend, there will be a wide range of activities taking place, including:

• Climbing, mountaineering & fell running clinics (paid, bookable separately)
• Basecamp programme including talks, films, workshops, activities and more (free and open to all)

If you’re travelling for the hike, we’d highly recommend making a full weekend of it – whether that’s arriving earlier to experience the Friday/Saturday programme, or staying on after the hike.

• Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable
