Hundreds of thousands of people climb Snowdon every year, but far fewer get to experience the quieter, equally beautiful peaks that surround it.

This hike is about looking beyond Snowdon and exploring the lesser-trodden trails that show just how much Snowdonia National Park has to offer. Moel Eilio, rising to approximately 726m, offers a rewarding mountain route with wide ridgelines, open scenery and expansive views across the surrounding peaks and valleys.

Starting from Llanberis, this route climbs steadily away from the crowds, offering a more peaceful mountain experience and a deeper connection to the landscape. Expect sustained ascents, open terrain and a true sense of journey through one of Snowdonia’s underrated areas.

This is a longer mountain day with steady climbs, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended. No prior hill or mountain experience is required. All of our hikes are fully guided, inclusive and open to beginners who are comfortable being outdoors for several hours.

KIT LIST

Hiking boots with good ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, warm layers, water bottle (at least 1.5L), and packed lunch.
