The Great Walking Weekend – 2025

We’re excited to invite you to our annual residential adventure weekend; 2 days of hiking, 2 days of great vibes, outdoor activities and a fully inclusive 2 night stay at YHA Castleton in the Peak District National Park.

DATE: 14 – 16 February 2025

LOCATION: Castleton, Peak District National Park

ACCOMMODATION: YHA Castleton, a massive Gothic mansion set in 27 acres of land.

This is a fantastic chance to meet likeminded hikers & adventurers from across the country and enjoy scenic social treks as part of a professionally organised event with qualified mountain guides.

All are welcome regardless of religious background or ability. Whether you’re a seasoned mountaineer or a first time walker, we invite you to join us for this unique experience in the beautiful Peak District.

THE ITINERARY

A full finalised schedule will be sent to all participants before the event. Please note that the programme is subject to change but below is a rough guide of what to expect:

Friday 14th Feb

15:00 onwards: Arrivals & registration – check in to rooms. (later arrivals accomodated)

Free time to pray, network, explore Castleton, YHA facilities and grounds

19.30: Dinner

21:00: Night prayers & welcome briefing

Saturday 15th Feb

06.45: Morning prayers

07:30: Breakfast

08:30: Day 1 Trek – A long hike with easy-moderate difficulty, expecting to finish 14:30

1 4:30: Free time & optional activities (programme info to be sent to all participants once finalised)

17:30: Evening Prayers

17:45: Dinner

19:00: Free time & optional activities; night trek, camp fires, etc

Sunday 16th Feb

06:45: Morning prayer time

07:30: Day 2 Trek – A shorter hike with easy-moderate difficulty, expecting to finish 12:30

12:45: Afternoon prayer time

13:00: Lunch

14:00: Departures

ACCOMMODATION

You will be spending your weekend at YHA Castleton, booked exclusively for Muslim Hikers. The stunning venue is a fully refurbished gothic mansion, set within 27 acres of land offering incredible views across the stunning Peak District landscape.

A ccomodation is based on same gender sharing rooms. Room share requests and allocations will be processed after registration.

Car parking is available on site.

KIT LIST
Hiking boots with ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, extra layers, water bottle & packed lunch. A full kit list will be sent to you via email.

Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
By signing up for this event, you agree to our Ticket Policy and Attendance Policy.

Please note professional photography & videography may be in place. Content may be shared by ourselves and third parties for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let us know on the day of the trek.
