The Mumbles | Gower National Landscape

The Gower Coast Path takes in a whole range of fabulous coastline, from wide golden beaches and dramatic cliffs to saltmarsh and sand dunes. The lovely bit of Coast Path is a part of a much wider network; the Wales Coast Path allows walkers to explore almost the entire Welsh coastline, now that’s a lot of coast to conquer! Taking you through the country’s heritage, communities and jaw dropping landscapes.

Walking is one the best ways to discover the gorgeous coastline of Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower and here is a great way to get exploring!

We start our journey at the Knab Rock where you will park. We will then walk on the Wales Coast Path enjoying views of Langland Bay. Some of the path is undulating but surfaced. We’ll experience the rugged coastal scenery at Limeslade Bay of the Gower on our journey to Caswell Bay. We’ll stop for lunch and prayers on the beautiful beach at Caswell Bay before returning back to Mumbles. We will then visit the Mumbles lighthouse before returning to Knab rock.

This is a fantastic chance to meet likeminded hikers & adventurers from across the country and enjoy a scenic social trek as part of a professionally organised event with qualified mountain guides.

All are welcome regardless of religious background or ability. Whether you’re a seasoned mountainner or a first time walker, we invite you to join us.

THE WALK

Time: Meet 08:30, Trek starts 09:30

Location: Knab Rock Car Park

Car Parking: Knab Rock Car Park, Mumbles Rd, Mumbles, Swansea SA3 4EL

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – (Car parking may be limited so it’s important to arrive on time to find alternative parking if needed)

Walk distance/Duration:

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY – This is a fairly easy walk and is suitable for people of all walking abilities. As always, being physially trained will help you enjoy the experience more.

The route is approximately 8 miles and it is expected to take the group 6 hours to complete at a casual pace.

After a short briefing, we shall start the trek at 09:00am sharp.

You should expect to complete the hike by 3-4pm.

KIT LIST

Hiking boots with ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, extra layers, water bottle & packed lunch. You will be sent a full kit list via email.
