This September, we’re heading to one of the most scenic and dramatic parts of the North York Moors National Park, the Wainstones, an iconic outcrop of weathered sandstone on the edge of the Cleveland Hills.

This 8.2-mile circular route combines open moorland, high ridgelines, and a section of the Cleveland Way National Trail, with sweeping views across North Yorkshire and a mix of trail types to keep things interesting.

Our partners at North York Moors National Park will be joining us for the day, helping us connect not just with the landscape, but the history, geology, and heritage that makes this route special.

Duration: Approx. 5–6 hours

Grading: Moderate – with some steady climbs and uneven terrain

KIT LIST

Sturdy hiking boots or shoes, waterproof jacket & trousers, rucksack, extra layers, minimum 1.5L water, packed lunch and snacks. A full kit list will be emailed to all participants.
