Muslim Hikers launch first family & children’s hike at Carding Mill Valley

Muslim Hikers has always been about building community and inspiring people to connect with nature, but we’ve taken an exciting step forward with our first-ever hike for families and children! Hosted at the stunning Carding Mill Valley in the Shropshire Hills, this event marked a new chapter in our journey to make outdoor adventures accessible to everyone, no matter their age.

With over 100 participants, including children and families, the event was a resounding success. The gentle 5km trail through the beautiful Shropshire Hills provided the perfect setting for families to bond, explore, and create lasting memories in nature.

The event was made possible through our partnership with Spotty Otter, a brand specializing in outdoor clothing for children. As part of the collaboration, we also delivered an online webinar for parents, providing valuable information on how to confidently kit their children out for outdoor adventures. This initiative supported responsible and safe exploration, ensuring that children can enjoy nature comfortably and securely. The webinar included generous kit giveaways for children, further enabling families to get outdoors with confidence.

A Personal Milestone
Reflecting on the event, Haroon Mota, founder of Muslim Hikers, shared his personal experience:

“It was beautiful for me to attend this hike with my two daughters, Aisha and Amina. At just three years old, Amina completed the 5km hike, and it fills me with pride to see her embrace the outdoors at such a tender age. I hope her journey inspires other children and families to join us in discovering the joy and benefits of exploring nature together. This event is a sign of a bright future to come, where we aim to empower more families to embark on safe, meaningful adventures.”
