Bringing Movement, Community & Iftar Together for 50 Participants in Central London
This Ramadan, Active Inclusion Network teamed up with Psycle London and Vita Coco to host a one-of-a-kind cycling event, blending movement, community, and faith in a way that challenged perceptions of fitness while fasting.
On Thursday, 13th April, 50 participants gathered at Psycle Oxford Circus for Ride & Refresh, a high-energy indoor cycling session designed to keep people active during Ramadan while promoting hydration and recovery through nourishing post-workout fuel.
The event highlighted that fasting doesn’t have to mean stopping, proving that with balance and intention, movement can be part of a meaningful Ramadan experience.
A High-Energy Ride Followed by a Nourishing Iftar
Participants pushed through a 45-minute rhythm-based cycling class, embracing the challenge of training while fasting. After the ride, they gathered for prayers, before breaking their fast with Vita Coco smoothies, dates, and nutrient-rich post-workout snacks.
For many, this was a first-of-its-kind experience, redefining how fitness and fasting can work in harmony.
Haroon Mota, founder of Active Inclusion Network, reflected on the event:
“Ramadan is about discipline, balance, and self-improvement—spiritually and physically. Ride & Refresh was a perfect way to embrace that, bringing people together to move, refuel, and reflect. Seeing such a strong turnout, with people pushing themselves while fasting, then breaking bread together, was truly inspiring. A huge thank you to our partners Psycle and Vita Coco for making this happen.”
A Collaboration Rooted in Community & Well-Being
The event was a powerful example of how brands can partner meaningfully with diverse communities, not just in words, but through real, impactful experiences.
A spokesperson from Vita Coco shared their thoughts on the partnership:
“At Vita Coco, we believe in fueling movement in a way that supports overall well-being. Partnering with Active Inclusion Network for this event was an incredible way to celebrate movement, hydration, and community during Ramadan. Seeing participants push themselves and then refuel with our smoothies was fantastic!”
The Start of Something Bigger?
This collaboration showcased the power of community-driven wellness and how brands can authentically engage with diverse audiences. The overwhelming response shows that there is space for more inclusive fitness events, and we look forward to continuing conversations around movement, hydration, and faith.
